South Korean plane crash site inspected

A U.S. investigation team, including representatives from Boeing, inspected the site of a plane crash in South Korea that killed 179 people on Tuesday. At the same time, South Korean authorities are inspecting all Boeing 737-800 aircraft used by the country’s airlines for safety.

A Boeing 737-800 operated by South Korean budget carrier Jeju Air crashed on Sunday, killing all 181 people on board, with only two survivors. The South Korean government is inspecting all 101 Boeing 737-800s in the country.

The Ministry of Transportation is investigating the operation and maintenance of the planes. The U.S. investigation team, consisting of eight members, inspected the crash site on Tuesday, the ministry said. The findings of the US investigation team have not yet been released.
